  After years of good service here, the appointment system has just been significantly downgraded. Rather than phone up for an appointment in the usual way, someone now phones back to triage you and decide if an appointment is justified. It has to be taken on faith that the person calling you (and openly discussing symptoms with you) is actually a doctor, calling from the surgery. At that stage, you will then need to discuss what you would normally discuss in the privacy of the consulting room, from where ever you happen to be when they phone back. If you need an appointment on another day, you'll need to phone back on that day, so it's impossible to plan ahead and get time off work. Now being forced to find another surgery.
